Welcome to Hanlon

By Hans-Jakob Brandt

Why I Started Hanlon

I started Hanlon because I kept seeing the same pattern: companies buying AI tools, bolting them onto existing workflows, and wondering why nothing changed.

The problem isn’t the technology. It’s the approach.

Most businesses treat AI as another software subscription—plug it in, hope it works. But AI isn’t like traditional software. It changes what’s possible. And when you don’t rethink your processes around those new possibilities, you’re leaving most of the value on the table.

Hanlon exists to help Nordic service businesses actually capture that value.

What I Mean by AI-Native

“AI-native” is a term I use constantly, so let me be precise about what it means.

An AI-native business designs its workflows around what AI makes possible, rather than fitting AI into existing processes. It’s the difference between using spell-check and letting AI draft your communications while you focus on strategy.

This isn’t about replacing people. It’s about redesigning work so your team spends time on judgment, relationships, and creativity—while AI handles the repetitive cognitive labor that used to eat their hours.

I wrote a deeper exploration of what AI-native actually means if you want the full picture.

What You Can Expect From This Blog

This blog serves two purposes.

First, practical insights from real work. When I help a client transform their lead research from 5 hours to 10 minutes, or build a system that qualifies prospects automatically, I’ll share what made it work. Stripped of identifying details, focused on transferable lessons.

Second, thinking about where this is all going. AI capabilities are expanding faster than most businesses can track. I’ll share my perspective on which trends matter for Nordic SMBs, which ones are noise, and how to position yourself to benefit rather than scramble.

I’m not here to hype technology. Most AI coverage is written by people who’ve never deployed a production system. I’ll try to be more useful than that.

How Hanlon Works

A quick overview, since you’re here.

I work directly with clients—no account managers, no junior consultants, no handoffs. You get my attention because your success is my reputation. I’m based in Oslo, focused on Nordic service businesses.

Every engagement starts with a First Win: a focused 2-4 week project that delivers a working AI system with measurable results. Not a pilot. Not a prototype. A production system you can use.

After that, we can either part ways (you keep everything we built) or continue with an ongoing partnership. No pressure, no lock-in.

If you want the detailed breakdown, the Method page covers exactly how I approach this work.

Let’s Talk

If any of this resonates—if you’ve been thinking about AI transformation but haven’t found an approach that makes sense—I’d enjoy the conversation.

Get in touch. No pitch deck, no sales pressure. Just a straightforward discussion about what’s possible for your business.
